L’ispirazione di Franco Rinaldi proviene tutta da un “modello interiore” che non cede tuttavia a un astrattismo slegato da contenuti figurali. Arturo Schwartz, estimatore di Rinaldi,
vede in lui il raro esempio di un’artista che “ha sia talento sia genialità”, due qualità spesso scisse nel fare artistico, che in Rinaldi si coniugano a dare vita, sulla tela, a un mondo immaginoso popolato da oggetti e personaggi sempre diversi.
Nato nel 1954, Franco Rinaldi si dedica alla pittura sin dalla fine degli anni ’70.
Dal 1989 si dedica anche alla grafica, sua é la xilografia in copertina del libro di Alda Merini, La vita facile (Bompiani 1996). Numerose sue opere accompagnano i libri delle edizioni Pulcinoelefante e L’Obliquo. La rivista “Città e Dintorni” pubblica in copertina un suo disegno. Sue opere illustrano diverse copertine, tra cui Innovazione Tecnologica e Sicurezza sul Lavoro (ed. Fondazione Anna Kulicioff), e Parole Lievi, Parole Grevi tra psicologia clinica e medicina
di Paola Manfredi (ed. Borla). Sue opere compaiono in “Vogue Italia“, “Tono Minore“,
“Dentro Casa“, “Stile Arte“, “nostrolunedì“, “L’Ago“, “Io Donna” e numerosi quotidiani.
Nel 2005, curata da Riccardo Barletta, esce una monografia per la Primo’s Gallery Edizioni.
Al 2009 risale il catalogo Nei Giardini Del Sogno (per “Stile Arte”, curata da Maurizio Bernardelli Curuz). Nel 2006 pubblica con padre Galdino Tagliabue “Necessità
Della Pasqua” e nel 2007 “La Notte che Illumina” (ed. La Nuova Rapida Cremona).
Per le edizioni L’Obliquo ha pubblicato “Il mio Oceano che dorme” (con Alberto Casiraghy, 1996), “Fuochi Fatui” (con Alberto Albertini, 1997), L’Orizzonte Verticale (con Allessandro Pelliccioli, 2012) e nel 2013 “Oltre lo sguardo” (con Giuseppe Fusari, Agostino Mantovani, Nicola Baroni).
